Hi — we're Jill and Greg. For 35 years, Greg's office was the flight deck of an airliner: predawn departures, paper charts that became glass cockpits, and a logbook that slowly filled with more stories than any one family dinner could hold.
When he hung up the uniform, the love of the machines didn't retire with him. It moved to the drafting table.
Runway & Heirloom is what happened next. Every print in our Etsy shop is an original design from our studio just outside Atlanta, Georgia — no licensed clip art, no recycled stock.
Greg draws the aircraft, locomotives, and muscle cars; Jill runs the shop, answers the messages, and keeps the whole operation on schedule (she was doing crew scheduling for this family long before it was official).
Why "Runway & Heirloom"?
The runway is where every flight begins. An heirloom is what's still on the wall — or in the nursery — decades later.
We wanted a name that held both: the thrill of departure and the permanence of something made well. It's also why our motto is Elevated Craft.
Enduring Legacy. We design pieces meant to be kept, gifted, and handed down, whether that's a warbird watercolor for a retiring captain or a blueprint-style airplane print for a future pilot's first bedroom.

When you've preflighted an airplane a few thousand times, you notice things: where the static ports sit, how a wing root fairs into the fuselage, what a gear leg actually looks like under load. That's the detail we sweat in every design — because the people who hang aviation art on their walls are exactly the people who notice too.

Are your prints digital downloads or physical prints?
Most designs are instant digital downloads: after purchase you receive print-ready files to print at home, at a local photo center, or through an online print lab. Many designs are also available as made-to-order physical prints through our production partners. Each Etsy listing states which it is.
What sizes can I print a digital download at?
Every digital listing includes five high-resolution files covering the standard aspect ratios — 2:3, 3:4, 4:5, 11×14, and the international A-series — at 300 DPI. Together they cover common frame sizes from 4×6 up to 24×36 inches and A1, so you can choose the frame first and print to fit.
Where should I print my download for the best results?
For the sharpest results, order a matte or luster photo print from a print lab or your local drugstore photo center and choose the file whose ratio matches your frame. Home inkjet printers work well for small sizes on heavyweight matte paper.

Can you personalize a design or create something custom?
Yes. We regularly add names, dates, tail numbers, or locomotive numbers to existing designs, and we take on custom pieces built around your aircraft, train, car, or nursery theme. Send us a message through the Etsy shop with your idea and we will work out the details with you.
How do personalized orders work, and how fast will I get them?
Personalized listings are made to order just for you. After purchase, we add your names, dates, or details to the design and send your finished, print-ready files by email within 1 to 24 hours of purchase.

Who designs the art?
Every piece is an original design by Greg, a retired airline pilot with 35 years of flying experience, drawn at our studio near Atlanta, Georgia. Jill co-owns the studio and runs the shop day to day. Nothing in our shop is licensed stock or clip art.
Do you ship internationally, and how are downloads delivered?
Digital downloads are delivered instantly worldwide through Etsy once payment clears — you download the files from your Etsy purchases page on a computer. Physical made-to-order prints ship from our production partners; shipping options and estimated arrival times are shown on each listing at checkout.
