Hi — we're Jill and Greg. For 35 years, Greg's office was the flight deck of an airliner: predawn departures, paper charts that became glass cockpits, and a logbook that slowly filled with more stories than any one family dinner could hold. When he hung up the uniform, the love of the machines didn't retire with him. It moved to the drafting table.
Runway & Heirloom is what happened next. Every print in our Etsy shop is an original design from our studio just outside Atlanta, Georgia — no licensed clip art, no recycled stock. Greg draws the aircraft, locomotives, and muscle cars; Jill runs the shop, answers the messages, and keeps the whole operation on schedule (she was doing crew scheduling for this family long before it was official).
Why "Runway & Heirloom"?
The runway is where every flight begins. An heirloom is what's still on the wall — or in the nursery — decades later. We wanted a name that held both: the thrill of departure and the permanence of something made well. It's also why our motto is Elevated Craft. Enduring Legacy. We design pieces meant to be kept, gifted, and handed down, whether that's a warbird watercolor for a retiring captain or a blueprint-style airplane print for a future pilot's first bedroom.
What we make
Our shop covers the machines we can't stop drawing: vintage and modern aviation wall art, a growing Women in Aviation collection honoring pioneers like Bessie Coleman and the WASP, steam locomotive and railroad prints, classic American muscle car art, blueprint-style nursery prints for little dreamers, and printable aviation greeting cards. Most designs are instant digital downloads you can print anywhere; many are also available made-to-order through our production partners.
Why a pilot's eye matters
When you've preflighted an airplane a few thousand times, you notice things: where the static ports sit, how a wing root fairs into the fuselage, what a gear leg actually looks like under load. That's the detail we sweat in every design — because the people who hang aviation art on their walls are exactly the people who notice too.
